What Is Xeomin?

Xeomin is a cosmetic injectable that corrects moderate to severe frown lines, i.e., the vertical lines between the eyebrows. While it’s FDA-approved to treat frown lines, it’s also used to correct other dynamic wrinkles on the face, such as the forehead lines, crow’s feet, and lipstick lines. This treatment temporarily relaxes the facial muscles and softens the associated expression lines. Our expert team at Medical Aesthetics provides the best Xeomin in Evergreen.

What Does Xeomin Treat?

  • Frown lines, also known as glabellar lines, between the eyebrows
  • Horizontal forehead lines
  • Crow’s feet around the eyes
  • Laugh lines around the mouth
  • Bunny lines around the nose bridge
  • Lipstick lines, also known as smoker’s lines, around the lips

What Are the Unique Benefits of Xeomin?

  • Non-surgical and non-invasive treatment
  • Doesn’t cause any pain or discomfort
  • Mild side effects that only last a few days
  • Softens the expression lines on the face
  • You can resume your daily activities immediately
  • You don’t develop tolerance after repeated usage

How Does Xeomin Work?

Xeomin is a neuromodulator that temporarily paralyzes the facial muscles responsible for your expression lines. It consists of a neurotoxin protein called botulinum toxin type A that blocks communications between nerve endings and muscles. When injected underneath targeted facial tissues, it prevents the facial muscles from contracting, thereby softening the associated wrinkles.

How Is Xeomin Different From BOTOX?

Both BOTOX® Cosmetic and Xeomin are made of botulinum toxin type A, suitable for correcting dynamic wrinkles. However, BOTOX contains other protein additives, while Xeomin is a “naked” injectable without additional proteins. While your body eventually develops a tolerance to BOTOX, it doesn’t develop a tolerance to Xeomin even after repeated usage.

How Is the Xeomin Treatment Performed?

The aesthetic technician carefully examines your skin, discusses your goals, and curates a treatment plan. Each treatment is unique — the dosage is selected based on your individual needs. After a numbing gel is applied to your skin, the aesthetic technician delivers the appropriate Xeomin dose into the targeted treatment area. Depending on the number of injections, your Xeomin in Evergreen concludes in 15 to 30 minutes.

What Are the Side Effects of Xeomin?

Xeomin injections may cause mild redness, swelling, bruising, and irritation around the treatment sites. However, the side effects dissipate in a few days. The risk of undesired results, such as excessive freezing and drooping eyelids, is negligible. In most cases, the dreaded “frozen” look occurs when the treatment is administered by an inexperienced aesthetic technician.

What Is the Recovery Process After Xeomin?

After the Xeomin treatment, you can resume your daily activities and work immediately. There’s no downtime. However, you should wait 24 hours before resuming strenuous workouts.

When Will I See the Results From Xeomin?

Xeomin results start appearing in 2 to 3 days, with continued improvements for 2 weeks. If you don’t see the desired results in 2 weeks, please contact your aesthetic technician.

How Long Do Xeomin Results Last?

Xeomin results last for 3 to 4 months, following which you’ll need a maintenance treatment. Most patients need 2 to 3 Xeomin treatments per year to maintain the results all year long.

Am I a Candidate for Xeomin?

You’re a suitable candidate for Xeomin if you’re at least 18 years of age and have realistic expectations from the procedure. However, our aesthetic technicians will review your medical history and examine your treatment areas to ensure you’re the ideal candidate.
